Work Package 2

Management of operational aspects of joint programmes and development of best practice
Organisation of ERA-NET ROAD

Content:

Work Package 2 (WP2) will provide the overarching management tools required for WP3-6. In order to undertake cooperation and coordination that includes joint programmes, funding and calls, a set of model operational procedures, rules and practices have to be established and agreed between the partners. These procedures are essential in ensuring that any collaboration is undertaken in a structured and systematic way, and that it can continue beyond the period of this project. The model procedures are developed through a process which:

- Identifies the different operational approaches used to manage National Road Administrations research programmes,

- Identifies any previous systems used for collaboration between National Road Administrations,

- Analyses and overcomes any barriers to collaboration, and

- Reviews model procedures, rules and practices established in other ERA-NETs.

A process of testing, review and amendment is required to refine these procedures.
